About the Team

Adam Acosta

Born on the outskirts of Albuquerque, New Mexico, I’ve always been drawn to the great outdoors—especially the Southwest. At a young age, I moved to Salt Lake City, Utah, where the gorgeous Rocky Mountains became a canvas for many beautiful adventures throughout my life. I attended college in Southern California and eventually moved back to Salt Lake City to play professional soccer for Real Salt Lake and the Charleston Battery in South Carolina. After falling in love with fly fishing 15+ years ago, it’s continued to be my main hobby—the one that allows me to escape the busy life and connect with this beautiful country we live in. Having lived in multiple states, traveled across the nation, and experienced various countries, I’m continuously enamored by the beauty of the western states. It’s quite difficult to imagine my life without the Yellowstone River in the expansive state of Montana, fishing the Green River below the Flaming Gorge Dam in Dutch John, Utah, sitting by a fire under the bright stars in the open Land of Enchantment in New Mexico, marrying a girl from Idaho and camping together in Wyoming with our two wonderful kids, golfing on some of the nation’s most pristine courses in Scottsdale, Arizona, or traveling to enjoy a favorite artist at the famous Red Rocks Amphitheater in Denver, Colorado.

Favorite outdoor adventure: Fly Fishing

Core belief: Having genuine and honest conversations surrounding anything to do with the outdoors is the best way to come together.

As an avid traveler and seeker of new experiences, my life has been a series of unforgettable journeys and thrilling escapades. The sense of adventure that drives me has led me to explore the unknown, pushing my limits, eager to discover what lies around the next bend. One of my most memorable outdoor adventures was a family trip to the Dolomites in Italy, where we embarked on a via ferrata hike. This exhilarating “hiking” experience, complete with stunning views and adrenaline-pumping moments, was undeniably the best our family has ever had. As we navigated the iron pathways and climbed the majestic mountains, we created lasting memories that we continue to cherish today. We also love to camp. One of the best places I’ve ever camped was in the Algarve region of Southern Portugal. With its amazing views and excellent surfing opportunities right from the RV, it was an experience that combined my love for adventure and the great outdoors. However, not all my RV adventures have gone smoothly. I once drove an RV over a fire hydrant, and despite my best efforts, found myself surrounded by various local authorities, including the Police, Fire Department, Water and Sewer Department, Town Planning Department, and Sheriff’s Department. Fortunately, I was able to bring my “A” game, and to my relief, I managed to escape without a fine. These unique experiences, both the ups and downs, have helped shape my RVing journey and remind me of the incredible stories and connections that make the RV community so special. For me, the core value that IHeartRVing should embody is community. By cultivating a sense of togetherness, we can create a space where everyone feels welcome and supported in their RV adventures.

Favorite outdoor adventure: Via Ferrata in the Dolomites

Core belief: Community is built by connecting with others through shared experiences and a love for the open road.

Born in the beautiful town of Mesa, Arizona, I have always been drawn to the captivating desert outdoors. At a young age, I constantly explored the vast desert in my local area, going on hikes, road trips, and campouts. I attended college in Utah, where I had the opportunity to explore new scenery filled with stunning mountains, lakes, and hiking trails. After school, I moved to Southern California and enjoyed being a “beach bum,” surfing nearly every day. Nowadays, I reside in Arizona. Although I miss the beaches of California, I’m glad to be able to reconnect with my desert roots once again.

Favorite outdoor adventure: Road-tripping to Cannon Beach and exploring the lush hikes near Portland, Oregon.

Core belief: You’re never too old to explore the outdoors as you did when you were a kid.

Whether I’m conquering scenic hiking trails, cycling through picturesque landscapes, or carving through snow-covered slopes on a snowboard, I find comfort and joy in the great outdoors. I consider myself an outdoor enthusiast! My passion for adventure extends to quality family time, where I share the thrill of these activities with my children, fostering a love for nature and an active lifestyle within my family. This summer, I took my family to Yellowstone National Park. We were staying in the town right outside the north entrance. And on the first morning we were there, I made my family wake up at about 4:30 in the morning so we could drive the hour or so to Lamar Valley to see the wildlife. My family grumbled about going out that early. But when we got there, our car was surrounded by bison. We even saw calves out frolicking. It was amazing to be that close. Then, when we were driving away, we saw two black bears close to the road! By the end of the trip, it was one of the most talked-about experiences we’ve had.

Favorite outdoor adventure: During the record-breaking snowstorms of 2022/23, in Park City, we had some of the best powder I have experienced in my life! It was also the year I decided to get my kids skiing. Once they got the hang of it, I couldn’t keep them out of the little trails through the trees and popping out onto the main trails again with my daughter yelling about how amazing fresh powder is. I don’t think I can fully articulate how special it is to be a part of their experiences, to share the excitement, along with some hot chocolate in the lodge. It’s fun having them as my “little” snow buddies.

Core belief: The best way to press pause is to go play.

For my whole life, I've been in love with outdoor sports. Mostly rock climbing, splitboarding, and cycling (mountain and road); but I also ran, did triathlons, played intermural soccer and softball, and many others. It has been my escape and has helped me meet almost all of my best friends. A few years ago I got diagnosed with an autoimmune disease called AS. And it completely rocked me. Spent the better part of a year in bed. Couldn't walk. Constant pain. Now, I'm happy to say I'm in remission! I can do almost everything I used to do. Back rock climbing, biking, and splitboarding. I still have pain. And I definetely have limitations. But the truth is, those don't matter as much. Because everyday I get to be outside is a miracle. And I'm so grateful! Even if I'm not as fast as I used to be.

Favorite outdoor adventure: Climbing Touchstone in Zion, going cat skiing with my dad and brother, riding the Whole Enchilada in Moab, and watching my 3 year old daughter snowboard for the first time.

Core belief: There is nothing you can buy, get, or become that is worth sacrificing your health.

Growing up in Colorado, it was easy to fall in love with the great outdoors. Hiking trails, rivers, and lakes were never far away. And watching the sun set behind the mountains was (and still is) pure magic. Family adventures were endless. We spent hours along the Poudre River, building forts and racing homemade “boats” in creeks. Once a year, we’d pile into the family van with camper in tow, venturing to states near and far—from Wyoming and Montana to Missouri to New Mexico to Oklahoma. As an adult, I knew the adventures must continue with the next generation. One of my favorite memories is taking my young son to see Mesa Verde—cooking over a campfire, cuddling up to watch the sun go down at the end of adventurous days, and diving into the history and nature of the area together. Today, my favorite place to be is still outdoors—typically with my family (including our dogs)—soaking up life’s simple joys. I can’t wait to head out for our next hike or the chance to tuck our family’s vintage RV, Loretta, into a quiet spot in nature.

Favorite outdoor adventure: Grounding my bare feet in the grass or sand and chasing fall colors.

Core belief: Time in nature is the best reminder of how little it takes to be happy.
